At Almost Home we try to source the animals their forever family, usually this is with a human family but in a very special case we can create a bonded pair.

Everyone meet Reuben and Missy.

Reuben came to us in autumn 2024. He is a 6 years old deerhound x with a fun and affectionate nature. So full of life and energy, Reuben showed off his playful personality and became a firm favourite with the volunteers. Volunteers noticed how good he is on the lead and how much he craved companionship from the other dogs and humans so when the opportunity came along for Reuben to become a big brother we couldn’t resist!

Missy, a hairy lurcher cross, arrived at Almost Home in winter 2024. Only 9 months old, Missy is fully of fun and mischief. Missy needed someone to show her the ropes and enjoy her puppy energy and it was decided no one could be better for the role than Reuben!

The pair have been together for a month and love nothing more than playing with one another outside and relaxing together in bed. They are truly a scene to behold and we would love nothing more than for them to be rehomed together now that they have found one another ❤️

The requirements for this dynamic duo include:

No small animals or cats in the home.
Children 6+.
Secure back garden.⌉
