Meala

Successfully Rehomed!

I’ve left Almost Home and gone to live with my new people.  Will you help some of my friends get new homes too?  Their pictures are at the bottom of my page. Scroll down and have a look.

Stunning German showed Meala is in need of a new home.

we are hoping to facilitate home from home for this pretty girl.

Her family have said

We adopted a female German Shepherd from yourselves in September ’22. She was named Paisley and we rechristened her meala., we had a behavioural session with Oaks & Co as you suggested; we got on very well with Suzi & Neil and indeed we continued to visit them as we tried to get on top of her issues. She’s completed the livestock desensitisation course and shows little interest in farm animals and she’s been to regular training classes and had several home visits.

Firstly we want to say that she’s a fantastic dog; absolutely beautiful (something on which almost everyone who sees her comments), very much human-focussed and hugely affectionate once she gets past her initial anxiety (which can be intimidating: we don’t introduce her to anyone without her being muzzled), pretty good on lead (always muzzled in public, but not hugely reactive to other dogs), loves training (has a great attention span), very food motivated, crate trained, has never soiled herself indoors, and will go to a designated toilet area outside. She is fully vaccinated until this coming December, and takes flea and worm medication monthly. She’s incredibly clever and very loyal to the humans she bonds with. She’s also really good fun and tries so hard to please.

The issue we have with her dislike of our smaller animals. We have tried very hard but sadly we do not feel this is something we can not change..

Because of this it’s obvious that Meala would be much better off in an adult home with no children (resident or visiting) and no small dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits etc. She enjoys playing with other dogs of medium size and bigger but they need to be confident and prepared to tell her off when she gets carried away. For a household like that, she would be a dream dog. She’s a darling.
